Red’s Horse Ranch is currently owned by the United States Forest Service and is a part of the Eagle Cap Wilderness of northeastern Oregon. Access is still by Foot, Horse or Airplane as the runway remains open for public use. Camping is allowed in the area, but the buildings are not available to overnight guests. Red’s cabin, the dining hall, barn and a few of the ancillary buildings are being conserved. The guest cabins are being allowed to deteriorate in place.
